Background:

Since first picking up a camera at fourteen, I have loved the process and artistry of capturing visuals. Over a lifetime of photography, my interests have expanded to exploring imagery as an art form, with a special focus on natural patterns. Professionally, for a number of years, I was involved in curating exhibitions of Canadian photography as the co-owner of A Moment in Time Gallery in Toronto, Canada. I have sold photography as a form of graphics and interior design to corporations, as well as acquiring a personal collection of vintage photographs by auction. My work has been published in numerous books celebrating Canadian nature and landscapes, as well as working  with a commercial image bank. Recently I have self-published a number books showcasing my images across a variety of subjects, often featuring collections of images taken during my travels.

Month Twenty Eight: Structures

Fellow travellers,

Well it’s month twenty eight, and in going through a selection of images recently for a project I’m working on I was struck with the wonderfully graphic qualities of some of man’s attempts to harness materials to his useful advantage. Man the builder, the constructor, the assembler…of things that perform a purpose. And at the same time, when observed through the eye of a camera lens, these purpose built structures configure beautifully as artistic expressions of pleasing symmetry. I have included one image that contains only a natural structure, without any human overlay. Just to remind us that successful structures hold up the world, we’re simply expanding on a fundamental.

Of course, any of my images are available as fine art prints in various sizes. Please contact me for further information.

Cheers,

fraser
